CASANOVAS Return With Catchy New Album

After a prolonged hiatus, Melbourne rockers The Casanovas recently returned in style with Reptilian Overlord, a collection of in your face rock tunes that shows like a fine wine The Casanovas only improve with age.

“It’s pretty exciting,” enthused vocalist and bass player Damo Campbell. “We’ve been through a few changes over the years and we had some time when we weren’t really doing anything at all. We did this album sort of in-between drummers as well so it was really just me and Tommy on the back of doing a really cool European tour a couple of years ago and we had the motivation to start working on another album. We got together with Mark Opitz – who has produced a lot of the good stuff from that golden era of Australian rock including AC/DC, Cold Chisel and The Divinyls – so working with him was pretty cool too.”

In the full interview, Damo discusses the album in greater detail, their ideas going into it, working with Mark Opitz, the title and its meaning, where the band has been for the last decade or so, the struggles of being a live band who currently can’t perform and more.
