After an extensive period of hibernation, the beast has risen once again to stake its rightful claim as Australia’s premiere female-fronted melodic Death Metal band.
2013 heralds the dawn of a new era for Melbourne’s Black Like Vengeance. Since their inception in ’05, they’ve stunned audiences from coast to coast with their grim elixir of ‘Scandistralian’ metal – best exemplified by their debut record ‘Empty As The Day’, produced by Roman Koester at Complex Studios (Psycroptic, I Killed The Prom Queen, Deez Nuts). In 2009 their track Snuff Is My Business (And Business Is Booming) featured on the bloody and violent Australian feature film and ost, The Loved Ones.
The searing musicianship of guitarists Martin Kawaler and Drew Hanley, drummer Juan Rueda and frontwoman Sheri Vengeance guarantee the quintet continue to stand out. With a focus on technical creativity that is bludgeoning in its intensity yet sorrowfully melodic and laden with infectious hooks, the band’s music has traversed international boundaries – earning them recognition worldwide amongst fans of heavy music:
