Share This:

As the kick off of summer is just around the corner, many music lovers gear up for the final cross country run of the Vans Warped Tour. With 50 plus bands on the final run, and 38 dates (6/21-8/5) stretching across the US, it seems as if the last tour should be an incredible way to end an era in the music industry. With so many artists playing the massive festival this summer it’s easy to miss some amazing acts over the course of each show. So to remedy that here’s a list of the 10 must see bands on this year’s Warped Tour.

#10. Real Friends.

Stage: Journeys Right Foot

Dates Playing: Full Tour

Hailing from Tinley Park, Illinois the pop punk band are no strangers to playing the Vans Warped Tour. With their high energy performance and music style that gives off a feeling reminiscent of pop punk icons like Blink 182 and Simple Plan, this band sticks strong to the roots of the genre, which fits the atmosphere of Warped Tour perfectly.

#9. Falling In Reverse

Stage: Journeys Right Foot

Dates Playing: 6/28-7/16

One of the more controversial bands to play the tour, Falling In Reverse, will be hopping onto the tour for a few weeks this summer. The rock band has played the tour countless times and never fails to draw a large crowd. Their faster paced music includes a mix of several genres such as Rap, Rock, and a bit of Pop. They are one band that can combine several genres of music and make it work.

#8. Motionless In White

Stage: Mutant White Lightning

Dates Playing: Full Tour

One of my personal favorites on this list of exciting bands is Motionless In White. They have a very theatrical gothic appearance making this one band you definitely can’t miss out there. Their innate ability to connect with their crowds instantly, mixed with their heavy songs you can expect this set to be full of Moshing, Walls Of Death, and Crowd Surfers.

#7. DollSkin

Stage: Owly.FM

Dates Playing: Full Tour

Coming in at number 7 on the list is all female rock band Doll Skin. The 4 piece band also played the tour in 2017 on the Journeys Right Foot Stage. With their pop punk vibes and fast paced songs, this band is sure to bring the perfect stage presence to the tour.

#6. Tonight Alive

Stage: Journeys Right Foot

Dates Playing: Full Tour

Tonight Alive is yet another band on this list that are far from new comers to the Vans Warped Tour. The Australian rockers bring a very unique crowd connection to their sets. With their catching energy on stage and haunting vocals this band is one that doesn’t disappoint.

#5. Bowling For Soup

Stage: Journeys Left Foot

Dates Playing: 7/6-7/16 – 7/18-7/21

Pop punk legends Bowling For Soup come in at number 5 on the list. This band is one that you definitely do not want to miss on the tour. This is one of the bands that I personally would say helped create the genre that is pop punk. The band has played several Warped Tours in the past and have never disappointed!

#4. Palaye Royale

Stage: Owly.FM

Dates Playing: Full Tour

Palaye Royale is here at number 4 on the list. This band is one of those that has a certain nostalgia, not only to their appearance, but music as well. Giving off vibes of early 2000s Panic! At The Disco and Fall Out Boy, the band has been able to build a strong and loyal fan base consisting of lots of 2000s pop punk fans. One thing that’s certain about this band is that you will not be disappointed with their live performance. With their unique stage presence and high energy this band is sure to draw a crowd to the Owly.FM stage.

#3. Simple Plan

Stage: Journeys Right Foot

Dates Playing: Full Tour

Warped Tour veterans, Simple Plan, are definitely no strangers to playing the summer long tour. Playing several years of the tour over the course of the years it was only fitting to have them on it for the final run in 2018. Yet again another one of the artists to help bring the Pop Punk genre to life, this band is classic Pop Punk and put on exactly the kind of performance you’d expect at Warped Tour. A set filled with Pop Punk, Crowd Surfing, Singing Along, and Mosh Pits.

#2. Movements

Stage: Journeys Right Foot

Dates Playing: Full Tour

Even though they are new to the scene, Movements comes in on the list at number 2. The band formed only four years ago back in 2015 and since then have been on several tours with major artists such as Pierce The Veil and Real Friends. In 2017 the band played their first Vans Warped Tour on the Full Sail stage and gave their fans absolutely incredible performances each date. With their emotional lyrics and pop punk roots the band is an absolute perfect fit for the tour.

Before we get to the number one must see band on Warped Tour 2018 I think it’s only fair to give a few honorable mentions on this list. There are so many great and talented artists on the tour and the list was so close on so many I had to give each of them a shout-out. So here’s the honorable mentions

Mayday Parade

Stage: Journeys Left Foot

Dates: Full Tour

Waterparks

Stage: Journeys Left Foot

Dates: Full Tour

Silverstein

Stage: Mutant Red Dawn

Dates: 7/17-7/20, 7/25-7/28

#1. The Maine

Stage: Journeys Right Foot

Dates Playing: Full Tour

And the must see band of the tour is none other than Arizona’s The Maine. The band are definitely not newcomers to the Vans Warped Tour, playing their first Warped Tour ten years ago back in the summer of 2008. Since then the band has played four different years of the tour with 2018 being their fifth. With their Alternative Pop sound and somewhat intoxicating stage show, The Maine has definitely earned this spot at number 1. Not only does the band put on an incredible show but they can establish such a strong crowd connection almost instantly and make a venue of thousands feel like an intimate club setting. Even if their music is not particularly your style their performance is one you truly cannot miss.
