Review by The Southport Rocker

Venomous Concept were first conceived in 2004 formed by Kevin Sharp (Brutal Truth) and Shane Embury (Napalm Death) while on tour with Sharp, driving the Napalm Death tour bus. They recruited Danny Herrera (Napalm Death) & Buzz Osborne (Melvins) and released their first album Retroactive Abortion.

Later, Osborne left and Danny Lilker (Nuclear Assault, Anthrax, S.O.D) joined who recorded on the 2008 album Poisoned Apple. As you can see, Venomous Concept have quite the arsenal of musicians and pretty much steers you in the direction of their sound. Fast, brutal, in your face & chaotic are some words that can be used when describing their sound to someone.

The grind punk supergroup is back with their third album Kick Me SillyVCIII. It’s a frantic album that contains 21 tracks of utter brutality grind punk rock. There is literally no room to breathe from one track to the next. Upon my first listen I was astounded by the ferociousness of the first track Ride, when in all reality when I checked, I was actually on to the fifth track Human Waste, blink and you’ll miss 4 tracks quite easily!

This is fast, this is chaotic. You’ll be circle pitting in no time. This will fit nicely amongst your Dropdead, Disrupt, Blood Duster (whom VC did a split with), Siege crust grind records.
