[NEWS] An Evening With Henry Rollins

Share This:

Henry Rollins has announced another Sydney Opera House show, this time on Sunday the 4th of September.

The humorous, handsome and intellectual rocker Henry  Rollins is a favourite in the world of entertainment and will finally grace our shores in September. This will be his first spoken word tour since 2012 as he embarks on a gargantuan tour across the country that stretches from the Blue Mountains in NSW to Margaret River in WA. The Australian visit will also see Henry making his highly anticipated debut at the Melbourne Arts Centre’s State Theatre as well as doing two shows as part of the Festival of Dangerous Ideas.

A connoisseur of multiple art forms, with a finger in every pie, Henry Rollins is definitely a Jack of all Trades that has mastered every single one. Spoken Word Artist, Punk rock icon (Rollins Band and Black Flag), Actor, Comedian, DJ, radio host and the list goes on – in the words of Limp Bizkit, he “keeps Rollin’ Rollin’ Rollin”. He has certainly kept himself busy over the years making a number of TV series for National Geographic, and the History Channel, had his first starring role in a feature film ‘He Never Died’, and been a part of one of the greatest live music / silent film projects ever undertaken, along side the likes of Grace Jones, Lemmy, Iggy Pop and many more legends of the game in Gutterdämmerung.

A voice-over artist, author (over 25 books), photographer (Occupants) columnist (LA Weekly, Rolling Stone Australia), TV host (National Geographic, History Channel, IFC), radio DJ (KCRW), activist and spoken word performer (delivering countless shows around the world). As a solitary traveler with insatiable curiosity, Henry has toured the world , favoring road-less-traveled locales in places such as Nepal, Sri Lanka, Siberia, North Korea, South Sudan and Iran and of course,  Australia! In 2014 he was awarded the prestigious Ray Bradbury Creativity Award in recognition for his lifelong contribution to the arts, his passion for social activism, as well as his intense passion for the importance of maintaining books and libraries.
