King Parrot New Video ‘Dead End’

Share This:

Just when you thought it was safe to venture back onto YouTube, Aussie grindcore and pub thrash band King Parrot has returned with another video, this time for ‘Dead End’, the third single from 2012’s Bite Your Head Off.

Filmed at Collingwood’s infamous live venue The Tote Hotel, ‘Dead End’ further extends the band’s reputation for clips that incorporate story-based narratives. This time it’s Stephen King’s iconic horror novel and film The Shining that gets the King Parrot treatment – there’s a ghostly barman, a tricycle, some unsightly twins and even the chopping of The Tote’s front door with an axe!

‘Dead End’ continues the band’s long-standing love affair with the inner-eastern Melbourne suburb of Collingwood, a cultural and live music hub that has been strengthened in recent years after resisting threats of closures to key venues there – the suburb also featured prominently in the band’s wildly-successful video for ‘Shit on the Liver’

The Melbourne-based five piece has had a big couple of years, touring 2012 album Bite Your Head Off across Australia and South East Asia with considerable success before closing out 2013 by signing a worldwide distribution deal with Candlelight Records. King Parrot also graced the cover of HEAVY’s September 2013 issue and headlined HEAVY’s sold out Brewtality festival in October 2013.

King Parrot is playing Alice Springs and Darwin this weekend as part of the band’s Scorching Summer Tour 2014, and is then booked to tour the USA with Cattle Decapitation during March and April 2014.
