CAIRO KNIFE FIGHT Get Tough On Upcoming Live Version Of ‘The Violence Of Action’

Musical powerhouse Cairo Knife Fight are set to release a live version of their 2011 track The Violence of Action on June 28 via Golden Robot Records. This single is a nod to the band’s raw and dynamic origins, delivering an authentic live experience captured in a single take.

“The release of this track feels timely, and it’s still one of my favourite songs, even after all these years,” shares frontman Nick Gaffaney. “It takes me back to the early days of the band, when we were forcing equipment to do things in the looping world it was never designed to do and running with the inspiration wherever it took us.”

The Violence of Action was originally conceived in the most unorthodox of settings – a storage unit in Christchurch, New Zealand. Surrounded by glow-in-the-dark carpet-covered concrete walls and enduring the biting Christchurch winter seeping through the garage door, Cairo Knife Fight found a unique creative sanctuary. “It was horrible, but it was also somehow perfect for the moment. I can’t say I miss those days but I’m certainly grateful for them,” Gaffaney reflects.
